Synopsis
New York-based pianist and Steinway Artist Kayo Hiraki appears at the Fringe Club for the first time. She has been performing with her band for two decades, five nights a week, as the house pianist at Arturo’s, a famous jazz spot in Greenwich Village. She has been featured in the in-flight magazine of Japan Air Lines, has done annual concert tours around Europe and Asia, and has been acclaimed internationally for her swinging piano and vocals.
Kayo was born in Fukushima, Japan, and after graduating from Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, she started performing as a pianist and vocalist in Japan, then eventually moved to New York City. She has released six CDs, including her own original compositions, and has performed as the leader of the Kayo Hiraki piano & vocal trio around the world, including in Europe, the US and Asia.
