The intriguing story of a girl and her search for happiness in a world of judgment and societal expectations. It’s the journey of one soul as it is reincarnated across three different lives consumed by paranoia, dependence and altruism.
This powerful show is characterised by grotesque yet simple stage art, colourful costumes and soulful music. It throws a spotlight on truth and lies, and prompts us to consider the question: “What is human life?”
GUMBO’s work is frantic, high-energy and full of black humour. The group delights and bewilders audiences with its absurd yet poignant form of comedy.
This show won the special commendation award at the 2003 Melbourne Fringe Festival, and has been through a continuous development process in its performances in Melbourne, Tokyo, Osaka, Adelaide and Singapore.
