Synopsis
The 20 members of The Dartmouth Aires make music using only their voices. This show will be trademark Aires: eclectic energy plus close attention to musical detail. The Aires perform an eclectic mix of music, including contemporary favorites, jazz standards, Dartmouth’s traditional power-house solos, and the occasional choral piece.
The Dartmouth Aires is an internationally-known all-male a cappella group made up of undergraduate students at Dartmouth College. The Aires gained worldwide acclaim following a three-month appearance in 2011 on “The Sing-Off”, NBC’s hit vocal competition on American television, which was aired in China in 2012. Since the group’s founding in 1946, the Aires have consistently produced albums — the newest one, Truth or Daire, came out this past fall. In 2003 and 2005, the group won the Contemporary a Cappella Recording Award for Best All-Male Collegiate Album. In addition to consistently touring in the United States, the Aires are no strangers to international shows and travel: the group has recently sung in Aruba, Costa Rica, France, and Italy.
