Synopsis
An entertaining and thought-provoking evening of nine world-première short plays showcasing various perspectives of modern-day life in Hong Kong. From the silly to the profound, the abstract to the absurd, these remarkable plays are written by nine promising new Hong Kong writers: Irene Tsang (Winner of the 2012 SCMP/RTHK Hong Kong Top Story competition), Vinnci Pun (Winner of the ‘Most Creative Award’, 2012 SCMP/RTHK Hong Kong Top Story competition), Wilson Chik, Michael Cheukachi, Kaitlin Trowbridge, Long Wong, Sean Scully, Samuel Chan and Oliver Wong. All are graduates of the HKU Creative Writing MFA Program. These plays are performed and directed in collaboration with some of Hong Kong’s most accomplished theatre artists.
Special announcement:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the play written by Sean Scully will not be included in this program. 'Postcards from Hong Kong' will now feature eight plays instead of nine.
