A Close Listening Journey Through "Brokenness" in Chamber Music

 

This evocative chamber recital traces a journey from restless yearning to transcendent peace. We begin in the dramatic fervour of Mozart, before Mahler's heavenly joys offer a glimpse of paradise. The journey deepens with Massenet's poignant Élégie and the wordless sorrow of Rachmaninov's Vocalise, where melody alone conveys profound emotion. Our path culminates with Schubert's The Shepherd on the Rock—a masterpiece that moves from loneliness through joyful hope to final, serene acceptance. In embracing states of fragility and longing, we discover not an end, but a transformation; a wholeness forged from the beautiful, broken pieces of the heart.
