Synopsis

Galerie Chantilly brings you an exhibition of Chinese Contemporary Masters, bringing together works by seven renowned Chinese artists: Wu Guanzhong, Walasse Ting, Ding Yanyong, Hsiao Chin, Zao Wou-Ki, Wucius Wong, and Zhao Chunxiang! With their unique visions, they built a bridge between Chinese traditions and global modernism. This exhibition allows you to experience up close the exclusive artistic language each master forged between ink, color, structure, and space. The exhibition is free admittion.

Even more exciting—there’s a special talk with guided tour during the exhibition! On Saturday, October 18 at 7:00pm, the talk "Chinese Contemporary Art between 1950 – 1985" will be held at the same venue, hosted by Meryl Chantilly, a seasoned art professional with over 25 years of experience. The talk will map the development of Chinese contemporary art over these 35 years, from Taiwan and Hong Kong to transnational networks, analyzing how artists explored identity and modernity amid migration and urbanization. It will also include a guided tour of the exhibition’s artworks, no prior background required, ideal for anyone wanting to dive deeper into art history!  The special talk with guided tour incurs a $200 entry fee, please pre-register using the art-mate link displayed above.

Join us to witness how the masters balance restraint and freedom, precision and lyricism, and enjoy an immersive art experience as lines stretch and colors bloom.
