But Sau In - "Old News Is So Exciting"
An accident at the age of eight caused me to lose my mother. To protect the children, my family chose to hide the secrets about her.
Unable to suppress my desire for the truth, I chose to study journalism in university to learn how to seek it. When I finally saw the "truth," I realized that what matters most is not the truth itself.
A mini-documentary dedicated to my family.
Chan Pui Sze - “Why Can't We Speak Out”
To survive, I lost the ability to speak.
At a young age, I experienced various traumas that I couldn't express—being taken away by strangers after family gatherings, enduring long-term abuse from my father, and being falsely accused of stealing money by my family...
The family member who first taught me to speak became the reason I found it hard to express myself. I could only communicate through drawing, baking, physical movement, and acting, safely expressing my inner thoughts. Even today, I am still searching for the strength to voice myself.
Ho Chun Long - “Invisible Colour”
In my third year of secondary school, I experienced a separation from a loved one, which unexpectedly opened my ability to see auras!
These colors helped me navigate my growth, yet they also trapped me in the dilemma of what is real.
In this half-hour, I will take the audience on a train of memories, embarking on a treasure hunt.
Searching for my color among the vibrant past—an hue that has long faded away.
We can only see the scene before us. But do you know that this is the reality?
Lam Leung Kit - “Floating Home”
My last two generations were boat dwellers who came from the coastal areas of Yangjiang to Hong Kong. By my generation, fishing had begun to decline, and my grandfather and father decided to sell the fishing boat when I was eight years old.
After selling the boat, our lives shifted from the sea to the land. My family, carrying the habits of boat dwellers, struggled to adapt to the new environment.
In this context, I gradually grew up. I began to ponder why I became the person I am today. Was it the life at sea, or the life on land that shaped me? In my journey of seeking self-identity, I hope to understand my connection with my family, explore myself, and attempt to piece these fragments into a complete picture.
