Opera Goes to Holloywood 【Standup Opera! Series】

Fireworks aren’t reserved for special holidays or theme parks. Hong Kong Grand Opera and Fringe Club are creating new fireworks with opera and standup comedy! Come join us on the first Thursday of every month for jingles and giggles!

 

August finds the opera singers travelling to Hollywood where drama and sheer vocalism of opera meets cinematic classics. Heralding from the mean streets of NYC, actress/standup comedian Bianca Lau is dubbed ‘one of Hong Kong’s funniest comedians’ by The Beat Asia. Blending humor, wit and raw emotion into her signature acts, Bianca leads acclaimed artists Kenix Tsang, Joyce Wong (sopranos), Dennis Lau (tenor) and Jeremy Leung (baritone) to perform breathtaking arias and duets from cherished opera classics, including Don Giovanni, Madama Butterfly and Turandot.
