Synopsis
Nostalgia for the pre-war, late-19th-century La Belle Époque era and its sense of joie de vivre have been reappearing from time to time, after the two world wars and in modern times. The “incompleteness”, or the absence of beautiful moments, prompts people to re-imagine and tap into their own sense of nostalgia. Some say incompleteness makes life complete. By raising the question “What is incompleteness to you?”, and by performing music from the La Belle Époque period and creating art in real time, soprano Florence Cheng, pianist Cynthia Chan and visual artist Harvey Chan will invite you to ponder the incompleteness of life and recall the things you feel nostalgic about.
