Synopsis
Are you tired of typical Cantopop music, and are you looking for a change? But is it possible to combine Chinese music and jazz music? And how can dance collaborate with jazz?
Presented by the Fringe Club as part of the new “Jazz-Go-Central, Jazz-Go-Fringe” project – Phase II, Jazz + is a series of cross-over performances between jazz and other genres that will happen every month from October 2018 to May 2019.
The Jazz+ show in March will be hosted by local fusion jazz band Retro Groovers, joined by dance company SouLove Kulture. Retro Groovers will perform their favourite fusion, jazz funk, 80s disco and dance music, while SouLove Kulture’s street dancers add their high-energy steps! Let’s go back to the 80s and dance together!
Retro Groovers
Led by alto saxophonist Mike Inot, this versatile local 10-piece fusion, jazz funk, R&B, Latin, 80s disco and dance band plays a variety of musical styles.
