The Wanted, an a cappella group from Taipei, was founded in June 2014, and has since won the championship in several international competitions.  In 2016, it was the only group from Asia in the VoiceJam A Cappella Competition in the USA, and it won the championship.  Deke Sharon, the producer of the film “Pitch Perfect” and the famous American talent show “The Sing-Off”, described the group as “the Asian Pentatonix, a rising star”, and the media in Taiwan have dubbed it “the Taiwan version of Pitch Perfect”.  

As well as commercial performances, The Wanted has performed in large venues such as the National Concert Hall in Taipei, the Taipei Arena, the Shanghai Daning Theater and the Shanghai Mass Art Centre.  The group is also known for rearranging Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean pop songs in an a cappella style.

In addition, the members’ skills in composing and writing original songs have gained wide acclaim – the group won the Best Popular Award in the Theme Song Writing Competition for the Taipei Summer Universiade 2017 and has received commissions to write jingles and theme songs.  So this young a cappella group is an all-round art group with a bright future.
