Stand-up comedy from four Asian comedians: Vivek, Joanna, Jason and Orion.

VIVEK MAHBUBANI (Hong Kong)

“Funny, peculiar”

Vivek, a bilingual comedian who performs in English and Cantonese, won Hong Kong’s Funniest Person competition twice (in the Chinese competition in 2007 and then in the English competition in 2008), and has since become a regular headliner at the TakeOut Comedy Club Hong Kong.  As an Indian in Hong Kong, Vivek enjoys pleasantly shocking the audience when he throws in his fluent Cantonese during English sets, and vice versa!

JOANNA SIO (Singapore)
Joanna Sio is the Runner Up at the 2012 HK International Comedy Competition, becoming the first female comedian to achieve this accolade. She is both a standup and improv comedian and has performed live in the Netherlands, Hong Kong and Singapore. She was a performing member with the Amsterdam based comedy group Problem Solved and has performed standup and improv comedy with the People’s Liberation Improv at TakeOut Comedy HK and Comedy Masala, Singapore. An intelligent and witty comedy writer, Joanna will leave you in stitches as she jokes about everything from marriage to what Chinese people eat.

JASON LEONG (Malaysia)

Jason is sure to tickle your funny bone!  An undisputed star in KL’s comedy scene, he’s a regular for TimeOut KL comedy shows and has performed with many industry greats.  Jason also represented Malaysia in the “Laugh Off Asia 2011” comedy show.  Wittier than your average Facebook status update, Jason is scandal-free and Government-approved!

ORION PEREZ (The Philippines)

Orion has been doing comedy since June 2009, and has established himself as a unique act in Singapore’s comedy scene.  He’ll mesmorise you with his impersonations, making you wonder whether he’s actually Filipino!  Orion speaks more than six languages, and his comedy transcends cultures by finding the humour in everyday stereotypes that everyone will recognise.
