Synopsis
Formed in 1983 and based in London and Hong Kong WilkinsonEyre is a multi-award winning architectural practice working on a world-wide scale. Projects are characterised by an imaginative response to both brief and context and are a product of exploration and informed dialogue across traditional boundaries between design disciplines: engineers, landscape designers, artists and lighting designers have all been creative collaborators. A mutual interest and understanding of each other’s skills and knowledge contributes to the holistic and integrated architecture of the practice. Architecture is seen as both an art and a science, gaining from the intuitive and the analytical. Inspiration comes in many forms; whether from nature, technology or experiments through drawing and modelling. In WilkinsonEyre’s architecture a spirit of the new prevails and a timeless quality is born of clarity of thought and intent. The 11 selected projects on display are captured on film and in transparent glass blocks to evoke a sense of the light, space and form that makes our built projects uplifting to those who experience them.
