Jazzcats of the Galaxy

La Petite Jazzy Jam is an original Hong Kong band that brings together ten musicians who are passionate about jazz in all its forms.

The phrase “La Petite” means “the small one” in French, and the band chose that description because the band is – er – smaller than a full big band.  This unusual formation, with two singers, four horns and a rhythm section, brings both power and flexibility to the band, allowing them to deliver strong and full harmonies as well as soft intimates tunes.

For their new show, La Petite Jazzy Jam pays tribute to the pop music of the 1970s and 80s.  Inspired by the soundtrack of the movie “Guardians of the Galaxy”, they’ve jazzified some of the best tunes from that era.  They’ll play vintage jazz and Latin versions of songs from The Police, A-ha, Kylie Minogue, Blue Swede, Bruce Springsteen and many more!
