CAT Trio, featuring a traditional combination of instruments (clarinet, bassoon and piano), presents a programme of classical rarities, including pieces by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Glinka, plus tailor-made arrangements of works by Piazzolla and Zequinha de Abreu.
The trio is a group of enthusiastic Hong Kong musicians, all with many years of experience. Together, they are evolving a new musical chemistry.

Rita Shuk-yee Au (clarinet)
Clarinettist Rita Shuk-yee Au has performed frequently with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the Macau Orchestra, and in a number of musicals and operas. Since 2014 she has also performed with her woodwind quintet, Viva! Pipers, to promote music appreciation to children and music teachers. Rita has a Bachelor of Music degree from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and a Master of Music degree from Indiana University (Bloomington).
Dr. Cherry Tsang (piano)
Pianist Dr. Cherry Tsang has performed solo recitals and chamber music throughout Europe, Asia and America, and recently performed a solo recital in the Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s “Our Music Talent” series. As a dedicated chamber musician, Tsang recently performed in the Wooster Chamber Music Festival (Ohio, USA), the Hong Kong Citibank Plaza Series and the Sanibel Music Festival (Florida, USA), and at such venues as the Kneisel Hall, the Symphony Space at New York University and the Miller Theatre at Columbia University. She has also worked with many international artists, including James Thompson, Michel Arrignon, Florent Heau, Jane Rutter and Piotr Milewski. She is also a piano teacher at the Hong Kong Baptist University, and coaches chamber music and collaborative piano to undergraduate and graduate students at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Chi Hing-sang (bassoon)
Bassoonist Chi Hing-sang was born in Hong Kong, and graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Vienna State Academy of Music. He has been the Principal Bassoon in the Hong Kong Sinfonietta since 1995, and is currently on the faculty of the Baptist University of Hong Kong. He performed at the International Double Reed Conference from 2007 to 2010. Chi taught a bassoon seminar in Valdosta, USA, in February 2009, and in Vienna, Austria, in June 2009, and served on the judging panel for the IDRS Fernard Gillet-Hugo Fox International Competition in the summer of 2010.
