The Fringe Blurb

Traveling over from the UK, London, singer-songwriter Rachel Sutton makes her debut at The Fringe tonight with her collection of original music, together with beautiful arrangements from The Great American Songbook.

Rachel’s talent as a performer has gained her great popularity in the UK, working with some of the most well-known musicians on the Jazz scene. Her achingly tender, yet uplifting songwriting has been described as ‘a revelation’ by Jazz Views. Tonight, Rachel will also be giving her audience a taste of her long-awaited second album, which will be released next spring. Songs of longing and loneliness, of the connection with nature, and the chaos of love, will be performed for the first time as a special event for Hong Kong audiences.

Rachel's rich tone and sense of swing, coupled with her background in theatre, make her an exciting and moving performer. Her theatricality and flair for drama live through her music and her lively performances have made her one of the most engaging singers on the UK Jazz scene.

Accompanying Rachel at the piano, will be the incredible Chris Carpio, who is well-known to Hong Kong audiences for his beautiful and inspiring piano playing.
