Synopsis

Here comes the first activity under the “JCCAC x Fringe Club” series: Into the Blues – Indigo Dye Art Exhibition. ✨
 
Presented by JCCAC, with venue support from our strategic partner Fringe Club, we are bringing you a series of exhibitions and workshops, to charge the year with artistic surprises. Stay tuned!
 
The sky, the ocean, the universe…Hints of blue are nearly everywhere in nature. What does the colour remind you of? Colour psychology indicates that the colour blue helps to calm minds down and facilitates rational thinking. Perhaps escaping from the bustle of life by immersing yourself in endless hues of blue helps retrieve a peaceful mind. Take a good rest before the journey begins again 🌊
 
The local natural dyeing team “Dyelicious” led by Eric Cheung and Winnie Ngai has combined their 10 years of natural dyeing craftsmanship to re-cultivate the "Hong Kong Indigo” of Hong Kong Hakka culture and develop more than 48 beautiful natural colors. 
 
The exhibition featured a few of their extraordinary indigo dye art pieces indicating stories related to environmental issues by varieties shades of indigo.
 
The spotlighted work “Into the Blues“was inspired by our ocean. By using "Hong Kong indigo dyeing x Japanese discharge dyeing”, they create a total of 24 meters masterpiece shows various forms of marine creatures and lets you reflect on the relationship between "people" and "nature", and awaken your attention to different environmental issues and marine conservation.
