JazzSpeak Vol.8 ─ Create Your Music Network
With the increasing popularity of smart phones and social media and the cheap, easy availability of information online, traditional promotional tactics aren’t working so well anymore. So how do you make your marketing campaigns about your music stand out in an era of information overwhelm?
Hong Ka-chun, the founder of the Wow & Flutter music festival, is eager to bring local musicians to the stage. Facing the pressure to sell tickets and the vast number of performing groups that want to be promoted, seen and heard, what marketing strategies does he use?
Moderator Teriver Cheung is one of the most active jazz guitarists in Hong Kong, and also curates and promotes jazz concerts, so he understands the difficulties that people face in promoting non-mainstream music.
In this event, they’ll discuss the challenges they and others deal with in promoting music, and will share their marketing philosophy.
