Synopsis

[Change of Guest Speaker] Jason Lee to Replace Lau Kin-wai 

Hong Kong Fringe Club announces that Founder of Blue Door jazz club Lau Kin-wai has had to withdraw from the event due to sudden change of his schedule and has invited Jason Lee, his Music Director of the Blue Door, to speak on his behalf.

 

Presented by the Fringe Club as one of the programmes of “Jazz-Go-Central, Jazz-Go-Fringe” project, JazzSpeak is the training programme of the Jazz Youth Internship Scheme Phase I.  The talk will be opened to the public as well. 

JazzSpeak Vol. 4 to 6 will be hosted by Dr. Wong Chi-chung. Topics include concert curatorship, music marketing and music education, with guest speakers invited in the 2nd half of each talk focusing on the “Jazz” part.

Guest Speaker: 

Jason Lee has been promoting jazz and instrumental music/concerts/tours for the last 15 years in the greater China region (Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and 20 cities across mainland China) with renowned artists such as Lee Ritenour, Victor Wooten, John Mclaughlin, Dave Koz, Dave Weckl etc. Between 2001-2003 he managed the music program for Blue Door in Hong Kong and in 2016 he was the vice GM of Blue Note Jazz Club in Beijing, the flagship store of the most famous jazz club restaurant chain in the world from New York.

  • Admission: 30 minutes before show time.
  • No outside drink or food is allowed inside the venue.
  • Limited seats, first-come-first-served.
