Sizwe! is the Zulu word for “nations”, and it perfectly exemplifies the sound and music of Talie Monin and the World Jazz Compendium.  The group’s talented members hail from all corners and nations of the world, joining together to create the very best in Jazz-African-World music.  Led by vocalist Talie Monin from South Africa, the group explores some of the most interesting and dynamic contemporary music in the world today.

Talie Monin deftly mixes complex jazz harmonies with traditional African rhythms and plays traditional standards from the Great American Songbook, while adding a host of original songs that highlight the versatility and reach of each player in the group.  She studied jazz vocals in Paris with some of the finest instructors in the business, and has emerged as one of Hong Kong’s most distinctive and in-demand jazz artists and vocalists.

For the Sizwe project, Talie’s repertoire spans musical styles representing many nations around the globe.  Singing in her native Zulu, or in English or Portuguese, she extends her heart and soul to touch listeners with her gentle yet dynamic performances.

Limited seats, first-come-first-served.
