Synopsis

Performance Exchange, an internationally acclaimed theatre company from London return to Hong Kong for the 31st visit (a theatrical record) with the new production of the inspiring true story of John Merrick- The Elephant Man,  

Daniel Foley (Performance Exchange Artistic Director, Frederick Treves) and Elephant Man director Nigel Miles-Thomas have collaborated on more than 20 productions.   

1890.  Set against the backdrop of Victorian London and the serial murders by Jack The Ripper, John Merrick, suffering from a rare genetic disorder, is exhibited as a monstrosity at fairs and circuses.  Eventually rescued by the famous London surgeon Frederick Treves, he emerges as a loving, gentle and dignified human being.

The fine cast from London includes Robin Berry as John Merrick.  Robin has recently performed in the National Theatre production of “One Man, Two Guvnors” at the Haymarket Theatre in London.
